This past week I had the honor of meeting Steven Matthew Weil, a six month old baby boy who has endured more than most will in a lifetime. Steven was born premature at 3 pounds, 5 ounces. He was also born with Hemifacial microsomia, incurred the most severe type of brain bleed, and developed hydrocephalus among other complications. His parents Paige and Matt have been by his side and now after 172 days in the NICU, Steven is home.
Steven has had an amazing support system, from family, friends and the health care professionals at the hospital “Team Steven” continues to grow. And it needs to grow. Community means everything when you’re faced with these kind of life challenges. Steven’s surgeries are far from over and the outcome of his abilities are unknown. HOPE and ENCOURAGEMENT are a very real struggle to keep alive. But one look at this sweet boy’s face and your heart cannot be helped from falling in love with the beautiful story of what can be his future.
Please join me as I join “Team Steven” by sharing this post, Liking his Facebook Page, and checking out his You Caring crowdfunding page where you can read his full story and keep up to date with how he is doing! Thank you Paige and Matt for allowing me into such a significant time in your family’s story. I am believin’ in Steven.
