Chris + Sarah Engaged

Chris and Sarah met through close mutual friends years ago and fell in love.  Not only do they have friends in common, but they love to hike, travel, and most importantly route for the San Francisco Giants!  Years have gone by spent together and with life, college, career, and a decision to expand their family (will soon explain), they have decided that now is the prefect time to get married.

It didn’t take but a moment for Sarah and Chris to warm up in front of the camera.  Their chemistry and comfortability comes easy with each other.  Sarah claims she is not photogenic, but with arms, skin, hair, and a smile to kill for!!!!  The camera proved otherwise!

Our location was in Pacifica, CA, but that’s all I will admit to.  I like to think of it as a “secret location” since many who live in Pacifica can’t even tell where it is.

So, back to the that decision to expand their family, well the photo below explains that!  Vivienne, aka “Viv”, has brought a whole new kind of love into the mix.  This little girl is full of life, laughter, and a whole lot of curiosity.  She will turn two in October.  Sarah and I can definitely relate when it comes to little girls rockin’ our world!

You can see by the way both Chris and Sarah look at her, she has their hearts.   I love to watch parents watch their children, their faces are absolutely adorable.

After our family time we headed out to the beach to catch the sunset.

Chris and Sarah, I really had a great time getting to know all three of you better, thank you for allowing me to take these shots and making me part of your big day.  I look forward to July at Golden Gate Park!

Keaton’s Senior Photos

Keaton Goodell is one stylin’ boy.  Maybe it’s in the blood, since his family likes to “dress”, but in any case, he’s got a style all his own.  He is the second oldest of five children in his family, known as a “PK” (pastor’s kid).  Their family photo graces the slideshow above.  He is smart, thoughtful, funny, and generous.  I simply love ‘em!  Maybe because I have known him for about ten years now, but in all honestly Keaton has never failed to impress me.

Our shoot took place at Moffett Federal Airfield in Mountain View, CA.  It was the perfect backdrop for what I call a “boy shoot”.  Lots of interesting structures, bold colors, and airplanes for goodness sakes!

Keaton has always been a sharp dresser, but it seems as though these past few years he’s really come into his own and had fun with it.  I love to see him on Sunday’s at church decked out head to toe.

Not only is he good at getting himself dressed, but he is also a fantastic drummer, actor, and quite the academic!  The list could go on for days.

My boys absolutely adore Keaton, and I see a lot of similarities between him and my oldest Clayton, or maybe I’m just hopeful!

We love you Keaton, congratulations on finishing up High School and making it into Azusa Pacific University!  Thank you for making me laugh so hard my sides ached and I couldn’t breath!

And a great big shout out to, again, the phenomenal Savannah Goodell for your help and assisting skills! And for simply making me smile whenever you’re around!

I’m Moving to Oakland!

It’s been over a year since we made the decision as a family to be a part of a church plant called the Movement in Jack London Square, Oakland.  In fact, it was a week after I shot THIS Oakland wedding in Jack London Square that I found out where it would be!  Many of you know that my husband Josh is a pastor in our current church here in San Mateo called the Bridge.  We have served there for 8 years and are sad to say goodbye, however, excited about starting a new journey as well.  We did not tell people about this new adventure until this past January because it seemed just too far off to have details into how it would all play out… but now we do.

When I say “we” I mean a team of families partnering together to move to Oakland and work our tails off!  Our fearless, faith filled leader Ed Paz and his awesome wife and dear friend Rebekah are our counterparts.  We have been meeting monthly to pray and discuss church planting strategies.

We just had our first vision night called “Glimpse” to share our story, discuss what we’re up to, and how people can partner with us in different capacities.

Another great opportunity we had was to share the vision with other church pastors and leaders from across the country who came to the bay area to see how they could get on board to support church plants.

One of the most exciting days for Josh and I has been taking our three little ones to see their new home in Redwood Heights in Oakland.  They acted as if it was Disneyland!!! They had a blast running through the empty house, imagining their new rooms, playing in the back yard, and didn’t want to leave.  As a mommy, it was the best moment thus far.

Look out Oakland here we come!  We are excited to make you our new home!  To my faithful photography followers I will not be far, they should not change anything for me photography wise other than making new friends on the other side of the bay.  If anyone is interested in what we’re up to or would like more info go to www.themovement.us.  Also on March 29th, tentatively, we will be holding another vision night on the peninsula for all interested in hearing our hearts for Oakland. Please check the website or the Facebook fan page!!!

I just want to add that we absolutely LOVE San Mateo.  We have had all three of our children here, we know some of the best people on the planet, have some of the best neighbors, and have a deep sense of gratitude for all the joy we have experienced here.  Our hearts are simply expanding to love Oakland. We will be moving March 30th, but this blog will stay right here.
